What it does

A URL QR code stores the address of a web page. Anyone who points a phone camera at it sees the link and opens the site with one tap, without typing.

Use it to send people to a menu, a product catalog, a sign-up form or a review page. The address is written into the pattern itself: it never passes through our servers, it does not expire and it keeps working as long as the destination page is online.

If the link changes, create a new code. That is why a stable address, such as the main page of your menu, works better than a campaign link that will be switched off.

How to use

  1. Paste the link into the field. If it has no https://, it is added for you.
  2. Check the preview: the code appears as soon as the address is valid.
  3. Optionally change colors, dot shape and error correction under Customize.
  4. Wait for the read check to confirm that the code reads back correctly.
  5. Download PNG for screens, SVG or PDF for print shops, or print it directly.

Examples

  • Restaurant table tents that open the online menu.
  • Event posters that lead to the registration form.
  • Product labels pointing to the manual or warranty page.
  • A shop window sign with the address of the online catalog.

Frequently asked questions

Does a URL QR code expire?

No. The link is stored inside the code, which is static. It works as long as the destination page exists; if the site goes offline, the code opens an error page.

Can I change the link after printing?

No. A static QR code cannot be edited once it is created. If the address changes, print a new code, or keep the same address and update the page content instead.

Do you count how many people scan it?

No. The code opens your link directly, without passing through our servers, so there are no scan statistics. To measure visits, add campaign parameters such as utm_source to the link and check them in your own analytics.

What is the smallest size I can print?

For scanning from about a hand span away, use at least 2 cm (0.8 in) per side, and scale up for posters read from a distance. Keep the white margin around the code and strong contrast with the background.

Do long links cause problems?

The longer the link, the denser the code and the harder it is to read at small sizes. Use the shortest address of the page and drop parameters you do not need.

Can I use colors or add a logo?

Yes. Under Customize you can change colors and dot shapes and add a logo, which switches the code to the highest error correction. Keep a dark code on a light background and wait for the read check before printing.

Privacy and permanence

The link you type is turned into a QR code in your browser and is not sent to our servers. The code is static: it only depends on the destination page staying online.
