Event QR code
Save an event to the calendar, with .ics file.
The event details stay in your browser. Octoolbox does not receive them; the Google Calendar link only opens when you click it.
Complete or fix the highlighted fields to download the .ics file or open Google Calendar.

What it does
An event QR code carries the event in the iCalendar standard, so the phone offers to add it to the calendar with title, date, time and place. The time zone you choose makes guests in other countries see the event at their own local time.
Besides the code, you get an .ics file to attach to emails and a link that opens Google Calendar with the event filled in. Mark all day for events without a set time, such as a holiday or a fair that lasts the whole day.
How to use
- Type the event title.
- Pick the start and end, or mark all day.
- If the event has a time, check the time zone where it takes place.
- Add the place and a short description if you want.
- Download the code or the .ics file, or open Add to Google Calendar.
Examples
- A wedding save-the-date card that goes straight to the calendar.
- A school poster for the parents’ meeting.
- An online workshop invitation for attendees in several countries.
Frequently asked questions
Do phones add the event straight from the camera?
Most Android phones and iPhones recognize event codes and offer to add them to the calendar. When a phone does not, the .ics file or the Google Calendar link does the job.
Why do I need to choose a time zone?
The time zone fixes the real moment of the event. Guests whose calendars use another time zone see it converted to their own time, so nobody shows up an hour early or late.
What is the .ics file for?
It is the calendar file used by Google Calendar, Outlook and Apple Calendar. Attach it to an email or a message and the guest opens it to save the event.
Can I change the date after printing?
No. The code is static, so a new date needs a new code. Guests who already saved the event will not see the change either, so warn them.
Why does the code say the event does not fit?
Long descriptions make the event too big for a QR code at the chosen level. Shorten the description or lower the error correction; the .ics file and the calendar link still work.
Privacy and permanence
Event details stay in your browser: the code and the .ics file are made there, and the Google Calendar link only opens, sending the details to Google, when you click it. The static code keeps the event exactly as it was created.
