QR code reader
Scan a QR code with the camera or from an image, right in your browser.
Scan with the camera
The camera image is analyzed in your browser; no frame is sent or saved. The browser asks for permission only when you click Start camera.
Read from an image
The image is read in your browser and never sent to our servers. Nothing is opened until you choose.
The content of the code appears here, as text, before anything is opened.
What it does
This QR code reader works with the camera of your phone or computer, or with an image file: a screenshot, a photo or a picture someone sent you. You can also paste an image from the clipboard with Ctrl+V.
The content is always shown first as plain text, organized by type: link, Wi-Fi network, Pix charge, contact, event, phone or message. Nothing opens by itself; links only open when you click and only if they are web addresses, which protects you from codes that try to trick you.
Everything happens in your browser. Camera frames and images are analyzed on your device and never sent to a server.
How to use
- Choose Camera or Image.
- Allow camera access and point it at the code, or pick, drop or paste an image.
- Read the content shown as text and check where a link goes.
- Copy the content or open the link only if you trust it.
Examples
- Checking where a QR code on a parking meter leads before paying.
- Reading a Wi-Fi code from a photo a friend sent in a chat.
- Copying the Pix Copy and Paste (Copia e Cola) text from a screenshot of a bill.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images or camera frames uploaded?
No. The decoding runs in your browser, and images and camera frames never leave your device. The browser only asks for camera permission when you press Start camera.
Why does it not open links automatically?
QR codes can hide dangerous links. Showing the content first lets you check the destination, and only web addresses (http and https) can be opened, always after your click.
Which image formats can I use?
PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF and BMP files up to 10 MB. You can also paste a screenshot directly with Ctrl+V.
What if no code is found?
Try a sharper image where the code is larger and has its white margin. For the camera, add light and hold the phone steady about a hand span away.
Why is the Wi-Fi password hidden?
So it does not appear on screen to people around you. Click Show when you need to see or copy it.
Privacy and permanence
Images and camera frames are decoded on your device, never stored or uploaded, and the camera stops as soon as you leave the camera tab. Reading a code does not change it or tell anyone that it was read.
