What it does
A phone QR code holds a tel: link with the number in international format. When someone scans it, the phone opens the dialer with the number ready, and the call starts when the person confirms.
It avoids typos in numbers printed on vehicles, shop windows, flyers and equipment that may need urgent service. It also helps people who struggle to read small print.
Choose the country and type the number as you would dial it locally. The code uses the E.164 format, so it works for callers in other countries too.
How to use
- Choose the country of the number.
- Type the number with the area code, as you would dial it locally.
- Check the tel: link with the international number below the field.
- Scan the preview to see the dialer open with the number.
- Download or print the code.
Examples
- A sticker on a vending machine with the repair hotline.
- The side of a delivery van with the order line.
- A real estate sign with the agent’s number.
Frequently asked questions
Does the call start by itself?
No. The phone opens the dialer with the number ready, and the person taps call to confirm.
How should I type the number?
Choose the country and type the number as you would dial it locally, with the area code. Numbers with + and the country code are accepted too.
Does it work for landlines?
Yes. Any number that can receive calls works, whether landline or mobile.
Why is the number rejected?
The number must have a length that exists in the chosen country, and Brazilian numbers need a valid area code. Check the country and the digits.
Can a tablet without a phone line use it?
The tablet opens a calling app if one is installed, such as a VoIP app. Without one, it simply shows the number.
Privacy and permanence
The number is encoded in your browser and is not sent to our servers. The code keeps working as long as the number is in service.
